Microsoft releases its first Nokia ad with the tagline ‘Not Like Everybody Else’

Nokia's devices and services unit is now owned by Microsoft and to celebrate the company has released a new advert on YouTube. Sporting the tagline 'Not Like Everybody Else', it uses a track by English rock band The Kinks to highlight Nokia's expertise in industrial design. In a street drained of color, one brightly dressed pedestrian grabs his yellow Lumia 1020, adorns a matching pair of headphones and strolls down the road – causing passersby to be paralyzed by sheer shock and awe. It's a slick advert that embraces the position of the Windows Phone platform. Microsoft's mobile OS is...

One of the newest company culture trends is the transparent salary, where organizations make the salaries of all employees public knowledge within the company. Want to know what Dave the IT developer makes? Now, you can. Want to know how the organization figured out Tina in marketing's paycheck? Here's the internal...

The perfect iOS email app finally exists, but we wish it wasn’t free

I hate email. The team at The Next Web can attest to just how often I complain about email. Email is slow, cumbersome, often overwhelming and hard to deal with. There's just so much of it. I've always been bad at email and despite great solutions like Mailbox existing, I've never found the perfect iOS email client. Up until recently, I've been using the built-in iOS email client to get mail from my four Gmail accounts, mostly because the Gmail app lacks a unified inbox (it's also pretty slow) and Mailbox, while useful, lacks a desktop app (there's a beta coming soon) which...
